Virtual Physiotherapy for Back Pain
Most back pain improves with the right movement and a clear plan — both of which a physiotherapist can deliver over video. Bayridge Rehab assesses your back, explains what's driving the pain, and coaches a program you do from home.
Understanding it
About back pain
Low back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek physiotherapy. It's usually mechanical — related to how the spine and surrounding muscles move and load — rather than a sign of serious damage. Because recovery is largely about graded movement, education and exercise, it's very well suited to virtual care.
Common signs
- Aching or stiffness in the lower back
- Pain that worsens with sitting, bending or lifting
- Pain that eases with certain positions or movement
- Occasional referred discomfort into the hip or leg

FAQ
Back pain — your questions
- Can physiotherapy for back pain really be done online?
- Yes. Back rehabilitation is largely active — assessment of movement, education, and a guided exercise program — all of which work well by video. Your physiotherapist will tell you if anything suggests you should be seen in person.
- Do I need a referral or a scan first?
- No referral is needed to start physiotherapy in Ontario. Most back pain doesn't require imaging; your physiotherapist will screen for the small number of situations that do.
